He was preceded in death by his best friend/cousin, Joshua Sommers, Jr.; second cousins, Kaci Michalke, Danielle Harbison, and Ian Michalke; maternal grandmother, Kathy Winkelman; and great aunt, Mary Bond.
Surviving to cherish his memory are his parents, Michael and Becky (nee Lugge) Evans; maternal grandfather, Ronald Winkelman; paternal grandmother, Becky Eckhardt, and paternal grandfather, Dick (Brenda) Evans; aunts and uncles, Christopher (Dawn) Lugge, Christine (Rick) Range, Tia (Josh, Sr.) Sommers, Tracy (Daniel) Bone, Ronnie (Lisa) Winkelman, and Ryan Dale; cousins, Lanie Lugge, Alyssa Range, Joe Range, James Range, Ethan Range, Zander Dale, and Chase Dale.
In his youth, he enjoyed playing soccer and baseball, and spending time with his friends. He graduated Belleville West High School in 2015 and was currently employed at Streamline Energy Solutions. He previously worked at Friday’s South in Belleville and loved the people he met there. Jordan was extremely passionate about tattoos and music, especially Mac Miller, Pink Floyd, and The Grateful Dead, and he enjoyed attending music festivals.
He had a kind spirit and a bright smile that lit up the room. He gravitated to the underdogs and black sheep, those who appreciated his help and friendship. Jordan was a beautiful person who valiantly fought, but ultimately lost, his battle against drug addiction. He worked diligently to become sober, which he was for two years, and he regularly attended NA meetings at Oxford House. Jordan’s benevolence and compassion will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by all who knew him.
Donations in Jordan’s honor can be made to the family, who will distribute them to help others struggling with addiction.
Visitation will take place on Tuesday, August 15, 2023 from 3:00 to 8:00 PM, with a remembrance service at 5:00 PM, at Valhalla Gaerdner Holten Funeral Home, Belleville, IL. Rites of cremation to be accorded later. Guests are encouraged to wear their favorite classic rock tee or tie dye to honor Jordan’s love of music and hippie lifestyle! Formal attire is not necessary; please wear whatever makes you feel comfortable.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.ValhallaGardensandFuneralHome.com for the Evans family.
