My childhood friend. We met at Roosevelt & attended school all the way up through middle school. A couple months ago we ran into each at the store & we talked for awhile. Lots of laughs & reminiscing about our childhood school days. You were always a cool guy man. Life gets the best out of us sometimes, but you managed to always smile ! Rest In Love my friend. 

I am so sorry, throughout our time at school together Jordan was always the kindest person. Sending healing thoughts, and lots of love to his family and friends. 


Jordan Evans was a beautiful soul. He taught me so many lessons that I will carry on. He showed me first hand that you have the power to change your life. He showed me that if you set your mind & heart to something, NOTHING will stop you from achieving your goals. He showed me how to love each other, & love myself. I’m forever thankful he welcomed me into his family, and became my brother. Till we meet again my friend.

Jordan was an amazing person. He always supported my music and attended quite a few of my shows...which I am forever grateful .  I always saved the pink Floyd songs until I knew he was there. I have struggled with addiction myself, but am clean now and it breaks my heart that someone so genuine lost the battle. I'm currently writing a tribute song for him.  My strong condolences to his family

We met years ago when Jordan was just a young boy and began playing sports with Blake.  As the years passed several of the boys that played together bonded and our families became one spending time outside of sports together. The boys grew into men and began following their separate paths but all our families have stayed very close throughout the lows and highs of everyday life. Still loving and caring unconditionally about each of our kids health and happiness.  Our hearts are broken but we will always cherish the memories we had together when they were young. With deepest sympathy. Love you!

We had some good times at school and outside of school. Also had a lot of good times together. Remember all the times at the lake house. Playing King of the Hill girls vs boys. Sydney and me vs Nate and Jordan. Tubing how Ron would try to throw us off the tube. How Mike would take both me and Jordan to school. All the times coming over my parents place playing on the trampoline get out of my kitchen. I will treasure the memories, rest in peace. 

I was fortunate enough to spend a lot of time with Jordan. I got to know him well through working at Streamline, practicing recovery together, and being his friend. Some things I know to be true about Jordan are that he was hardworking, compassionate, funny, kind, honest, calm, loving, and a man of integrity you could always count on. Jordan had solid values and did the right thing; according to him, he was raised that way. He always offered to help, even when he was not obligated. He was a giving person who genuinely cared about others and never asked them for anything in return. Through endless hours of talking about life and how to deal with it properly, we made each other better men. Spending time with Jordan has undoubtedly helped me grow, and I wish I could've thanked him more for that. He will live on through the positive impact he had on me and all the others who had the privilege of knowing him. In that way, he is always with us. I feel lucky to have had the opportunity to grow with Jordan and to consider him a close friend.

When I first met Jordan and he started working with me, he was too shy to say much. But soon, he started breaking the silence with a joke. Even if the joke wasn't that funny, I still laughed because Jordan would laugh, and his laugh was deep, vibrant, and contagious. If we were at work, we were together. There were no other employees at our company in Kansas City for quite some time. Despite it just being the two of us, we never had a strong disagreement, let alone an argument. Jordan was just so damn easy to get along with. I don't remember him ever being in a bad mood. It was usually just peaceful positivity on his end. He might be the calmest, most laidback person I've ever known. Sometimes I would be stressed out at work and a little unpleasant to be around. Jordan had a way of staying relaxed, being helpful, and patiently waiting until I calmed down. Then I would apologize for being difficult, and he would forgive me instantly, never mentioning it again. Spending time with him slowly made me a more calm and patient person. He never pointed out any areas I might need improvement; he just set a good example. I'm sincerely a better person for having spent time around Jordan.

I kept trying to think of a good jordan story since we worked together. The second time we went to Wichita I almost died at Texas Roadhouse and jordan saved me. I was eating steak and took too big of bite of steak and was choking. Jordan was able to get me his water and was able  to save me. If he was out of water too I’d might not be around to tell the story. I thought it seemed like a good story to tell how jordan was able to save me that day and i will forever miss my friend.

What a crazy week it has been my friend. I just wanted to take the time today to thank you for an amazing 26 year life that I got the chance to be apart of for so many of those years.

 For those that may not know, there was a point in my high school days where I would spend almost every weekend  (and most days during the summer) with Jordan over at his home. I always considered Jordan to be my best friend, as well as a brother to me. I remember countless nights we would stay up late or go out with the our friends, making the most out of our teenage years. 

I thank you for the many friendships that were made through you just being the humble human being you were. Your smile, attitude, and charisma were contagious; you just knew how to light up a room. 

I’ll never forget coming up to Fridays to see my dad, and see you come out of the kitchen to catch up. I thank you for not only being such a great friend to me, but also my father as well. My dad has been through a lot deaths within his friend group just as I have, and I’m grateful he had someone like you in his life when some days he needed it the most. 

To my brother, this is never a farewell, but a moment where we are on different sides of the spectrum. There will be a day where we will one day reunite. Until then, I love you brother, always. Take care of yourself, Kathy, Joshua, and George for us. Look over all of us, and help us triumph in this dark time. 

Becky and Mike, I will forever cherish you welcoming me into your home and treating me like one of your own. Tia and Big Josh, same goes for you as well. Our friend group wouldn’t exist without amazing parent figures such as yourself. To go through what you guys have, I wouldn’t wish on anyone. I will always be here for you guys. Thank you for raising two of the most amazing human beings that were taken from us way too soon. I love you guys.

Well Jordan after reading all the comments I see that remembering everyone’s name at Fridays was your thing (and I thought I was special) LOL. But that was your way of making all of us feel special in our own way. Watching you during your cooking days at Friday’s you never would have known you were battling your own heartache and addictions. You were always happy, never negative. Watching you when Grandma Kathy was on hospice was heartbreaking for me cause I was close with my grandparents as well. This one hurts kid… you are definitely going to be missed.

Becky and Mike, I know there is nothing any of us can say to take your pain away, but know that you guys raised an amazing human being. I am better for having known Jordan, if only for a short time.

I led a few meetings in AA where I saw Jordan. It’s a rough bunch of people who gather at times all for one reason: stay sober to stay alive. A few of the men I would cringe when I saw them because of how disrespectful they were at times. Any time I saw Jordan my heart would settle a bit. He always was so sweet and peaceful. You could tell he was there to learn and to grow. I don’t remember him sharing much but what he did share with me was a common bond to do better and to get better. This disease is one I don’t wish on anyone. But when you meet kind beautiful souls like Jordan you are grateful for the small but mighty interactions. I know that he knows he tried his best and that’s all we can ever ask for from this community. It is comforting to know in his last few years of life he searched and sought out a spiritual connection with a higher power. May he be soaring high and bright with that higher power. Much love and condolences to his family at this time. 

Jordan was the light in every room he walked into. He loved and cared about everyone, even through his own battles he was fighting. He is one of the sweetest and most caring humans I know. I am going to miss his smile and big hugs. His occasional pop ins at Fridays to visit when he was in town. His pep in his step when he walked through the room. 

When my brother passed from addiction, Jordan reached out to me to make sure I was okay. He didn’t have to do that but that was the type of person he was. Even though he had his struggles he wanted to make sure I was okay and that I knew he was doing good and on the right path and that he would come visit soon. 

I will miss you so much Jordan!

To Becky & Mike: I love you guys so much! You raised a beautiful soul and he will always be remembered. I am here if you ever need a shoulder to cry on or just to sit and talk about all the memories. Try and remind yourselves that you did the best you could and gave him the best life possible, because you did!! He loved you guys so much!

I am incredibly sad and heartbroken.  Jordan was such a sweet and kind kid.  I would come in Fridays and he always had a smile for me…my family has felt the loss of a loved one over the same struggle Jordan had…it is heartbreaking and a loss that is felt deeply and forever.  My thoughts and prays are with you, your family and all Jordan’s friends.

Jordan always put a smile on my face walking into Friday's. Anytime he was there he knew what I was going to order. Sometimes he made it when I wasn't even there to eat Lol! Such a sweet soul, kind heart and caring young man. Rest in peace.

Jordan was special to me. We communicated on some of his Facebook posts and via messenger occasionally. He would occasionally tell me how he appreciated my help with his grandma, at the end of her life, and how much it meant to him. I always told him how much he and his family meant to my family. He was always so kind and I never heard him say a bad word about anyone.  What a special, unique, kind soul he was. Becky and Mike, we are devastated for you and our words can’t ease your pain. Please just know that we love you and are wishing you strength and some sense of solace knowing that so many lives were touched by Jordan, and how many people are here for you and care about you. 

Jordan and I met through treatment. He always looked out for everyone else and always checked up on all of us. He was strong, brave, funny, and so caring. We related over the loss of a loved one through suicide and he was one of the only people I have met that understood my pain. He was an amazing friend and he deserved the world. 

Jordan always had a perplexing look on his face every time I ordered a pizza at Friday’s with onion and green pepper only.  Lol He thought it was so weird (probably cause he hates both of those things!!)  Also, he always had a smile on his face when I walked in the door and he always called me by my name..he remembered which is special just because it’s hard to remember everyone’s name  ya come in contact with!! So thank you Jordan for making me feel special!  My deepest condolences to Becky and Mike & our whole family. Love, Mandy

Jdawg, was a true light! When he walked into a room it would truly light up. A long haired hippy who’s eyes so blue and a smile that changed the whole room! Working with Jordan side by side when your mom Kathy was sick and then passed was truly my best days at fridays! We would rock out to the best music in the mornings and it always made, each day more let’s get this done. Haha! I love the quirk to his steps when he would walk and his goofiness! Everyone has detain things about them but we all have own of our own. He gave the best music advice and truly was a gem with his words of kindness! My favorite memories is also when he was away and came back during Christmas! The hug and joy in his eyes was something I’ll never forget. He said anyone can change if they truly want. But to always be themselves and true! He changed a lot of people and had a true impact. I will miss him dearly and 

Jordan was one of the first people to be kind to me when I started going to Unity in Kansas City. He went out of his way to help me feel welcome and I am so grateful. I am very sorry for your loss. Jamie M.
