John A. Yuengel Sr.

John was a retired maintenance employee for Memorial Hospital, Belleville, Illinois and with Peabody Energy. He was a member of the American Legion GEM Post 937, Smithton, Illinois and the Disabled American Veterans. John was an avid NASCAR fan, loved working in his garden and the outdoors.

John was preceded in death by his daughter, Kimberly Ann Yuengel; father, Walter Yuengel; sister and brother – Laws, Pat and Fritz Young; brother – in – law, Scott Reece.

Surviving are his loving and devoted wife, Judy, nee Baltz, Yuengel; son, John Andrew (Tammy) Yuengel, Jr.; grandchildren, Blake Andrew Yuengel, Alexis Kimberly Yuengel, Jack Oliver Yuengel and Evelynn Clarie Yuengel; his mother, Flora, nee Headrick, Yuengel; one brother; sister – in – law, Sharon Reece; brother and sister – laws, David and Debbie Baltz; nieces and nephews, Tracy (Tim) Carr, and Mark (Michelle) Yuengel; great nieces and nephews, Justin and Taylor Carr, and Katie and Rebecca Yuengel, and Ashley, Courtney and Ryan Yuengel. Also, survived by other relatives, family and friends.

Visitation: A memorial gathering of family and friends will be held from 11 am to 1 pm on Saturday, August 22, 2015 at Valhalla Gaerdner Holten Funeral Home, Belleville, Illinois. An American Legion Ritual will be held at 11:30 am on Saturday, August 22, 2015 by the American Legion GEM Post 937.

Service: A Celebration of John Life will be celebrated at 1pm on Saturday, August 22, 2015 at the funeral home. With Pastor William Groennert officiating.
