Jimmie met the love of her life, Richard, and just three days later they were married. They spent 34 wonderful years together and together they had four children, before his untimely passing in 2010. Jimmie and her husband both worked at Walmart for many years and thoroughly enjoyed going to as many Walmart locations as possible. She loved the residents at Bria nursing home where she worked as a housekeeper. Jimmie was passionate about traveling and spending time with her treasured family, especially her grandchildren. She loved to garden and was known for her affinity for fixing things with duct tape or super glue.
Jimmie was an incredibly unique, outspoken, rebellious, and loving woman who will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Richard “Gabby” C. McFadden; daughter, Vickie (nee Johns) Kunz; parents, Orville N. Smith and Jimmie H. (nee Miles) Smith; siblings, Linda Smith and Allen Smith; parents-in-law, Paul McFadden and Wynona (nee Cooper) McFadden; brother-in-law, Michael McFadden; and her darling dog, Rosie.
Surviving to cherish her memory are her children, Richard McFadden, Andrew (Kelly) McFadden, and Timothy (Stephanie) McFadden; grandchildren, Tessa, Rielly, Kyarra, Gabriela, Alexis, Hayden, Caoiliann, Brittany, and Kyle; great-grandchildren, Xander, Isabella, Kendall, and Lilah; siblings, Donna McDaniel, Doris Risinger, Wendy Smith, Vickie Rauh, Orville “Sonny” Smith, and Pam Smith; sisters-in-law, Paula Bricker, Joyce Jamison, and Yvette McFadden; plus countless friends and extended family.
She will be laid to rest beside her husband at Valhalla Gardens of Memory, Belleville, IL. Per Jimmie’s wishes, no formal services will be held.
