Herbert Henry Foppe

Herb, retired from Liese Lumber Company in Belleville, Illinois where he began working in 1966 and retired in 2001. He also worked at Atlas Enamel Company in St. Louis, Missouri. He was a member of St. Teresa Catholic Church, the Fraternal Order of Eagles, the Knights of Columbus and St. Teresa Men’s Club. He enjoyed carpentry, fishing, cooking and gardening. He served in the United States Army.

Herb was preceded in death by his parents, Fred C. and Anna Sophia, nee Beckmann, Foppe; brother, Cyril Foppe and a sister Lucille Spihlmann.

Surviving are his loving and devoted wife, Marian, nee Moss, Foppe; children, Debbie Krieghauser of Swansea, Illinois, Karen (Zack) Kersulis of Waterloo, Illinois, Edward (Laura) Foppe of Troy, Illinois, Jeanne (Jim) Amann of Belleville, Illinois, Jenny Foppe (Dave Koerber) of Freeburg, Illinois and Ken (Angie) Foppe of Belleville, Illinois; grandchildren, Mark (Theresa) Daubs, Carolyn Kriegshauser, Jonas Gregory, Peter and Marta Kersulis, Katelyn and Anna Foppe, Jerilyn, Jonathan, Jessica and Jackie Amann, Abby and Peyton Foppe; great grandchild, Logan Daubs; brother, Clarence Foppe and a sister in law, Dolores Foppe.

Visitation: visitation will be held on Monday, July 15, 2013 from 4:00 pm – 8:00 pm at the Valhalla Gaerdner Holten Funeral Home, Belleville, Illinois and again on Tuesday morning, July 16, 2013 from 9:00 am until service time at 10:00 am at St. Teresa Catholic Church, Belleville, Illinois.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated on Tuesday, July 16, 2013 at 10:00 am.

Interment will be held in Green Mount Catholic Cemetery, Belleville, Illinois
