Kris attended Abraham Lincoln Elementary School and played in the school band. They were an incredibly talented artist; they enjoyed drawing, painting, writing music, and designing costumes and makeup for film. They adored animals, especially horses and dogs. Kris loved listening to, performing, and writing music; they played the sax, trumpet, and keyboard and were planning to learn bass. Kris also enjoyed roller blading, gemology, and riding on their dad’s motorcycle. Kris was a brilliant light; every life they touched, they made better. They will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by all who knew them.
Kris was preceded in death by their grandfather, Ken R. Carson.
Surviving to cherish Kris’ memory are their parents, James A. Morgan and Jen L. (nee Carson) Morgan; grandparents, Judy Carson, Andy Morgan, and Jean Morgan; uncle, Rob (Julie) Carson; aunts, Cathie Morgan, Melissa (Tim) O’Donnell, and Marsha Manuel; cousins, Morgan Gillham, Lennon, Ashe, and Errol O’Donnell, and Nick and Ashlyn Morris; best friend, Chase Commean; beloved dog, Sweetpea; plus countless friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Helping Strays of Monroe County, which was very near and dear to Kris’ heart.
Visitation: Friends may gather from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Monday, May 1, 2023 at Valhalla Gaerdner Holten Funeral Home, Belleville, IL.
Service: A funeral mass will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, May 2, 2023 at St. Henry Catholic Church, Belleville, IL, with one hour of visitation prior to the service. Rites of cremation will be accorded later.
The family kindly asks for privacy regarding their child’s death, which is still pending investigation, during this extremely difficult time.
