He is preceded in death by his parents.
George is survived by his wife of 23 years, Patricia (Rosenkranz) Nesbit, son Micheal Nesbit, son Kenneth (Jenny) Nesbit, daughter Heather Nesbit, step-son Andrew Dunning and step-daughter Ashley (William Evans) Dunning-Evans of Glen Carbon, Illinois, brother, Robert (Paula) Nesbit of O’ Fallon, Illinois, sister Cis (Tom) Hollenkamp of O’Fallon, grandchildren Brenden Nesbit, Tyler Reynolds, Dana Reynolds and Jackson Roth-Evans.
George served his country valiantly in the United States Army and upon honorable discharge, graduated in 1980 from Southern Illinois University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics. He worked for the United States Department of Agriculture as a Loan Processor.
George met his loving wife, Pat in the most adorable way by asking her if she needed an umbrella on a rainy day while riding the metro link.
He was always someone who made a friend everywhere he went. He spent his days enjoying treasure hunting at local thrift stores and reading anything he could find.
He enjoyed a good baseball game, spent his days playing golf and watching old movies, especially westerns.
Memorial Gathering will be from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm on Sunday, March 20, 2022 at Valhalla Gaerdner Holten Funeral Home in Belleville, Illinois.
Memorial Service will be at 12:00 pm on Sunday, March 20, 2022 at Valhalla Gaerdner Holten Funeral Home in Belleville, Illinois.
Graveside services will take place at a later date.
Memorials may be made in George’s memory to the American Kidney Society.
