Evelyn J Smith

Evelyn was a devoted mother raising her children to be strong, independent and loving. She enjoyed embroidery and spending time with family and friends. She will truly be missed by all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Cecelia Denise Lyvers; her son, Stephen Lyvers; her first husband, Noble M. Lyvers; her second husband, Maynard M. “Smitty” Smith; a brother, Carl Harris; and a son-in-law, Charles Stegmeyer.

Surviving to cherish her memory are her loving daughters, Gail (Grant) Metzler and Cyndi Stegmeyer; her grandchildren, Owen Metzler, Mark Metzler, Lindsay (Dan) Jente, and Kelsy (Eric) Stott, Nicole (Dan) Nester, Nichelle Scott, and Noelle (Chris) Bianchi; her great grandchildren, Parker, Henry, Charlie, Matt, Andrew, Sophia, Samantha, Sydney, Stella, Christopher, and Addison; her special niece, Phylis (James) Cagle; and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral: Due to current Covid-19 mitigations, services are being held privately with Valhalla Gaerdner Holten Funeral Home in Belleville, Illinois. Interment will follow in Valhalla Gardens of Memory, Belleville, Illinois.
