Edna worked as a secretary in the St. Clair County Board of Assessors and the county clerks office. She was also an election judge for 25 years. She was a pianist for the radio station KMOX, a dog breeder, an excellent seamstress, a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ, Belleville, Ill., a member of the St. Clair County Farm Bureau and a former member of the Turkey Hill Grange.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, Earl A. Green whom she married on May 19, 1940, and who died March 25, 2010; her parents, Edward and Marie, nee Ritter, Helms; a loving daughter, Bonnie Veath; a brother, Floyd Herman; and an uncle, Christian J. Ritter.
Surviving are her daughter, Pamela (Wayne) Pfeffer of Smithton, Ill.; a grandson, Bradley (Kathy) Veath of The Woodlands, Texas; two great-grandchildren, Abigail Veath and Gabriel Veath; three step-grandchildren, Brad (Angela) Pfeffer of Millstadt, Ill., Stacy (Scott) Kramer of Belleville, Ill., and Shelly Pfeffer of Millstadt, Ill.; and two step-great-grandchildren, Jenna Pfeffer and Emily Pfeffer.
