Mrs. Helfrich was a member of St. Luke’s Catholic Church in Belleville, Illinois. Dorothy Helfrich valued hard work and lived her life taking care of others. She was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and sister.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband of fifty-six years, Paul Conrad Helfrich, (married on November 28, 1946) and who passed away on September 1, 2003; an infant son, a grandson, Kyle Helfrich; her parents, Elmer and Gwendolyn, nee Kluge, a step-mother Marie nee Stanger Etling and a sister-in-law, Lorraine Etling.
Surviving are her sons; Don (Jannette) Helfrich, Roger (Erica) Helfrich and Thomas (Kay) Helfrich, and her daughter Judy Schaefer; grandchildren, Kevin Helfrich, Daniel Helfrich, Isabelle Helfrich, Steven (Daria) Helfrich, Scott Helfrich, Amanda (Phil) Bischoff, Jessica (Zach) Penny, David Schaefer, and Jason Schaefer; great grandchildren, Benjamin Helfrich, Sophia Helfrich, Hailey Michelle Bischoff, James Philip Paul Bischoff, Avrie Grace Bischoff, Harper Rae Penny, Mabrey Kay Penny and McKenzie Schaefer; brothers, Elmer Etling, Jr., and Charles (Carol) Etling; sisters-in-laws, Carol Tilley and Amy Fraser. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Funeral: Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, November 2, 2016 at St. Luke’s Catholic Church, Belleville, Illinois. Interment will follow in Valhalla Gardens of Memory, Belleville, Illinois.
