Dolores Edwards Goff

Dolores “Dee” Goff, nee Edwards, 86, of Belleville, Illinois, born October 9, 1925, in East St. Louis, Illinois, left our world Friday, June 8, 2012, at home, to be with her loving husband, Jim and family.

Mrs. Goff was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, Belleville, Illinois. She also participated in several card clubs, and was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan. She loved decorating and celebrating every holiday, which was instrumental for her niece, Patty, and daughter, Ruth Ann, to share her passion. She was known for telling you how it was and never sugar coated anything. She was a loving mother, who will be missed by all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, James E. Goff, her parents, Charles and Odelia, nee Cange, Edwards; her sister, Cleta (Al) Mross; sisters-in-law, June (Doug) Sullivan and Miggs (Jerry) Mason; a nephew, Jim Sullivan; and an aunt, Dorothy Swank.

Surviving to cherish her memory are her daughter, Ruth Ann (Stephen Foster), of Belleville, Illinois; a grand-dog, Samantha; her nieces and nephews, Bobby Mason, Patty (Jamie) Menendez, and Sherry Patterson; and her cousins, Bonnie, Arlene, Janet, and Betty.

The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to Heartland Hospice, Dr. Sampson, and her caregiver’s, Cathy and Lisa.

Visitation: Friends may call from 4 to 6:30p.m., Wednesday, June 13, 2012, at Valhalla Gaerdner Holten Funeral Home, Belleville, Illinois.

Funeral: Memorial services will be held at 6:30 p.m., Wednesday, June 13, 2012, at the funeral home, with Father Dennis Voss officiating. Upon Mrs. Goff’s wishes, cremation was to be held.
