He is preceded in death by his parents, Peter and Mary (Amann) Holmes, Sr., brothers, Jerry Holmes, Dale Holmes, Terry Holmes, sisters, Susan Wahlen and Gale Holmes.
Daniel is survived by his wife Sandra (Herzig) Holmes, children, children, Mike (Lara) Holmes, Brandon (Twiggy) Holmes, and Maura (Matt) Holmes, grandchildren, Chi Holmes, and Dexter Holmes and one brother, Peter Holmes, Jr.
Daniel served his country valiantly in the United States Army. Upon his honorable discharge, he worked in manufacturing. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and a dad to all. He loved working on anything mechanical and would help anyone in need.
Visitation will be Sunday, December 22nd, 2024, from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Valhalla Gaerdner Holten Funeral Home, Belleville, Illinois.
Funeral will be Monday, December 23rd, 2024, at 11:00 am at Valhalla Gaerdner Holten Funeral Home, Belleville, Illinois, with additional visitation one hour prior to funeral.
Interment will take place privately at a later date.
Memorials may be made to charity of donor’s choice.
