Charles was a member of the Machinist Local and was employed at Marsh Stencil for 29 years. He also served 4 years in the U.S. Navy, during Korean War. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer and Anita, nee Kauffman, Jarvis; and a brother Milton Jarvis.
He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Evelyn, nee Vinson, Jarvis; his children, Jay (Rita) Jarvis, of Belleville, Illinois, Jim (Judy) Thompson, of Trenton, Illinois, Tom (Shirley) Thompson, of Medesto, Illinois, Ron Thompson, of Swansea, Illinois, Mary (David) Donley, of Belleville, Illinois, and Nancy (Curt) Rodenmeyer, of Surprise, Arizona; his 16 grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Virginia Jarvis and Ruth (Paul) Fitzenrider; and a brother-in-law, Hank (Patricia) Vinson.

Funeral: Services will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, August 24, 2011, at the funeral home with Rev. Gary Byers, of Zion Lutheran Church, officiating. Interment will be held in Valhalla Gardens of Memory, Belleville, Illinois.
