Anna Marie Kern-Taylor (Becky Kern) passed away on October 16, 2024, in Glen Carbon, Illinois. She was born October 8, 1939, to John and Marie Beckmann who proceeded her in death. She was proceeded in death her husband of almost 29 years, Richard Wesley Taylor. She was also proceeded in death by her first husband Ronald Pete Kern.
The angels in heaven set aside their wings and put on tap shoes to welcome their newest angel. Becky was a well-known dance teacher in the Belleville area for decades. She taught thousands of children to dance, make lifelong friends and have fun. She was involved in teaching dance in schools, churches and many other outlets. Becky provided free lessons for people that could not afford dance lessons, a tradition that was passed on to her daughter-in-law and her granddaughter. She loved to play cards, go boating and she loved to snow ski. Becky lost her courageous two-year battle with cancer with her family at her side. If life is judged by how many people’s lives were affected in a positive way, Becky Kern will certainly have a very special place in heaven.
She is survived by her sons Michael (wife Susan) Kern, Mark (wife Dawn) Kern; daughter Rebecca Kern, stepchildren James (wife Michelle) Taylor, Jenny (Husband Justin) Schwigen, Judith Weber (Jared Heller), and Mandy Keck, grandchildren Sarah Kern, Jessica (wife Lindsay) Kern, Drew Taylor, Ava Taylor, Ian Taylor, Sean Schwigen, Emily Weber, Jay Weber, and Spencer Keck. Great Grand Children Kade Lawrence, Avalon Lawrence and Kala Goad and tons of loving relatives. Becky Kern will be missed by her many friends and family.
