Anna K. Anderson

Anna Kathryn Anderson, 71, of Belleville, IL Fortified with the Sacraments of Holy Mother on Church on Sunday, May 4, 2014. Mrs. Anderson was a member of St. Henry Catholic Church in Belleville, IL. She retired from Illinois Central Railroad where she worked as a dispatcher. Anna knew all the families of those she dispatched for and spent her free time visiting all of them up and down the Mississippi River. She was a loving and giving person who always put others’ needs ahead of her own. She worked with the Home Instead program assisting with the elderly and loved spending the 3rd Thursday night of every month with her pals for Bunco night. Her good spirit will be missed by everyone who had the pleasure to know her.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Verdell and Helen (nee Vucich) Williams; her husband, Charles Leroy Anderson; and her sisters, Jacqueline Thaxton and Cecelia Meyer.

Surviving are her son, Scott (Donna) Swartz of Belleville, IL; grandchildren, Scott Jr. (Alex), Seth, Charles, and Tommy; brother, Richard (Jean) Williams of Okawville, IL; sister, Richelle Williams, SSND of St. Louis, MO; dear friends, Judy and Charles Price and Mary Ann Germain; and nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Friends may call on Thursday, May 8, 2014 from 4-8 pm at Valhalla-Gaerdner-Holten Funeral Home in Belleville, IL. Funeral Mass will be at St. Henry Catholic Church on Friday, May 9, 2014 at 11 a.m. with a visitation at 10 a.m. Interment at Valhalla Gardens of Memory.
