Yvonne was born in Palestine, Texas on the 4th of July, 1933; moved to Houston, graduated Pershing Junior High and Lamar High School. Attended The University of Texas, Austin; member of Alpha Chi Omega Sorority; UT Bluebonnet Belle candidate, UT Aqua Queen Finalist.
Following a career with Pan American World Airways, Miami, Yvonne returned to Houston working for Nina Wickman at Good Things, a gourmet cooking store and cooking school, and later Herbert Wells Design.
Yvonne is preceded in death by her parents, Margaret Hartley Rodgers and Albert Washington Rodgers and her son, Dr. Harry C. Victery, III, Denver, CO. Survived by two grandsons, David Harry Victery and Mark Lawrence Victery, Denver, CO; lifelong friends, Mary Frazier, Austin, TX and Becky Goodman, Lexington, KY; and the love of her life, Malcolm G. Baker, Jr., with whom she shared true love, joy, happiness and devotion to each other during their thirty years together.
Yvonne will be remembered for her beauty, style, dignity and kindness. With her infectious, electric smile and calm demeanor, Yvonne both taught and modeled for us the dignity of death and courageous dying through her determination and conviction.
The family and friends wish to express their gratitude to Dr. Matthew Lenz, Medical Clinic of Houston, the Memory Care Staff at The Buckingham and Star of Texas Hospice for their loving and caring service.
