William Bryan Jones (Bill), 97, of Houston, Texas, peacefully passed away on March 10, 2022. Bill was born August 11, 1924 in Shreveport, Louisiana to Bryan and Mary Jones. He was a loving son, husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He graduated from Byrd High School and attended Centenary College taking accounting courses.
Married to Beverly Jean Nation Jones in June of 1959, they subsequently transferred to Houston in 1961. Employed with Exxon for 41 years in the accounting department, he retired at the age of 58. While living in Houston, he and Beverly were active members of Salem and Lamb of God Lutheran churches. Among many contributions to the Lord’s church, Bill served on church council, and as treasurer and youth sponsor. Several years after Beverly’s passing in April of 1999, he moved to Lone Star Living Retirement Community where he developed many dear friends.
His life was devoted to serving others by the grace of God.
Bill was predeceased by his loving wife Beverly and his parents Bryan and Mary Jones. He is survived by his son, Bill, daughter-in-law Mary, grandchildren Elyse McLean (and husband Jimmy), Bryan Jones (and wife Bree), Christian Jones and two great-grandchildren James and Julia McLean.
A private service will be held for family and burial will take place in Shreveport, Louisiana.
