On Tuesday, March 16, 2021, Steven Dale Sandler passed away. He was 68 years old.
Steven was born on April 2nd, 1952 in Cleveland Ohio to Merle and Marion Sandler. In 1979, he received his Bachelor of Science degree at Kent State University. He moved to Houston, Texas where he taught elementary school for 26 years. During this time he helped families in need through family literacy programs. Following his retirement in 2006, he continued to contribute to his community by volunteering as a tutor and mentor to elementary school students. His friends were very important to him and he enjoyed the company and lifestyle in the Del Webb Sweetgrass community.
Steven was preceded in death by his longtime companion Candiece Sandler. He is survived by his sister, Jodie Sandler Cowgill of Cleveland, his uncle Daniel Sandler of Tampa, his cousin Pamela Sandler Clapp, cousin Shelly Green, and his many friends at Del Webb.
A funeral service will be held at Woodlawn Cemetery in Houston on Friday, March 19th at 1:30 PM.
