

Steven Eugene Fairchild beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle passed away on November 19, 2013. Steven was born September 20, 1958 in Panama City, Florida. He grew up in a military family living in Florida, Okinawa, New Mexico, Arizona, Michigan, Ontario (Canada), and Texas. He attended Canyon High School and graduated Texas A&M University in 1981 with a B.S. in Electrical Engineering. He worked as a software engineer for Datapoint in San Antonio and Carroll Touch in Round Rock. For the last 25 years, Steven worked for Compaq Computer Corporation, which became Hewlett Packard, in the Storage Advanced Technology division. With Compaq, he was granted 4 patents for his work in the design of computer storage systems. Steven was an active member of the Boy Scouts of America, lending his help and skills to his son Stuart's Scout Pack then Scout Troop. His leadership, guidance and hard work were inspirational to scouts and adults alike. Steven also enjoyed woodworking and listening to music and podcasts. Steven is survived by his wife Carol, his daughter Rachel and her husband Ben Tague and their daughter Lisa, his son Stuart, his daughter Michelle, his parents Gene and Betty Fairchild, his sister Jeanette and brother-in-law Doug Jones, and his sister Beverly Fairchild and many loving nieces and nephews.
