Sandra Lynn Sharp, 61, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, October 2, 2022. Though we know she is in the arms of Christ, filled with joy and peace in her heavenly home, we loved her dearly and are filled with grief at her passing.
Sandra was born in Baton Rouge, LA on December 1, 1960. She grew up in Alexandria, LA with her parents and three siblings. She was a 1978 graduate of Holy Savior Menard Central High School where she was an honor graduate and served as Head Cheerleader her senior year. Sandra went on to graduate with a Bachelor of Science Degree from LSU where she was a member of Phi Gamma of Chi Omega Sorority.
All who had the honor of knowing Sandra can attest to the fact that she had one of the purest hearts and was one of the kindest people you would ever know. Sandra loved her parents and her siblings with all her heart. Her family meant everything to her. She loved her nieces and nephews as if they were her own. Sandra’s gentle nature was her trademark. There are no words to describe the void that will be left in all our lives by her passing.
Among her many outstanding qualities was her high-level intelligence as demonstrated by her many scholastic and professional awards and achievements. Sandra served in the United States Army as a German – language translator at Ramstein Air Base in Germany. Later, Sandra received certification from Lamar University in Beaumont, Texas, as a Medical Transcriptionist, which services she provided for many years.
Sandra was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, James R. & Vera Sharp, and maternal grandparents, William Touchtone & Angie Touchtone Diamond.
Sandra is survived by parents, Judge Donald R. Sharp and wife, Jan; mother, Jane Suire; brother, William J. Sharp (Cathy); sisters, Donna Sharp Olmstead (Mickey) and Penny Sharp Schnorbach (Phil); step-brother, Chad Baker (Gina); step-sister, Kimberley Banks (Kendall); and nieces and nephews, Michael, Philip, Emily, Paige, Parker, Sutter, Austin, and Preston.
Pallbearers will be nephews, Michael Sharp, Philip Schnorbach, Parker Schnorbach, Sutter Sharp, Austin Olmstead, and Preston Schnorbach.
The legacy Sandra leaves her family, as well as the life she lived, is found in the words of James 3:17, “…the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceful, gentle, reasonable, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy.”
A visitation for Sandra will be held Tuesday, October 11, 2022 at 9:30 AM at Our Lady of Lourdes Chapel at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 6800 Buffalo Speedway, Houston, Texas 77025. A mass of christian burial will occur Tuesday, October 11, 2022 at 10:30 AM, 6800 Buffalo Speedway, Houston, Texas. A rite of committal will occur Tuesday, October 11, 2022 at 1:15 PM at Houston National Cemetery, 10410 Veterans Memorial Dr., Houston, Texas.
