Chendo was born on September 15, 1930, in Guantanamo, Cuba. He was the son of Argelia Lara and Rosendo Gonzalez the first. He was the youngest of two with his older sister Fedora “Mimi’’.
In 1959, Chendo married his life-long love, Virginia Varon, and together they built a life rich in love and laughter.
Together, they had and raised two children, Ross and Argelia. Chendo was a devoted husband and father, and his family was the cornerstone of his life.
Although he never finished elementary school, he started working at a young age and eventually became an owner of his own coffee shop. His dedication and sacrifices paved the way for his family’s success and achievements.
He leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories with his wife Virginia, his two children, Argelia and Ross [married to Mireya], his grandchildren: Carlos [married to Danielle] , Zachary [engaged to Ileana], Gabrielle, and his beautiful great-grand daughter Elena.
Following the service, Chendo will be laid to rest. A gathering will be held afterwards at his daughter’s home, where his family and friends are all invited and can share memories and celebrate Chendo's life.
