Randall Davisson Taylor Elliott, Jr., born October 24, 1927, in Washington, DC, passed away January 5, 2019. He was a wonderful, caring man with a terrific sense of humor who will be greatly missed by his wife, Wilma Faye Elliott, and daughters, Deborah Kelsey Elliott and Susan Berry Elliott. Additionally, he is survived by his sister, Virginia “Vikki” Shoup, extended family members, and loving friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Randall Davisson Taylor Elliott, Sr. and Gladys Mary Berry Elliott Cooper, stepmother, Isabel Louise “Ila” Elliott, stepfather, Howell Cooper, and son-in-law, Joseph Romano.
Randall spent his early years in Bedford, Virginia, and graduated from Augusta Military Academy in Fort Defiance in 1945. He attended West Point before receiving a BA Degree in Economics at the College of William & Mary, Williamsburg, Virginia in 1950. Graduate studies in marketing and finance were completed at Western Reserve University in Ohio in 1954.
He served as 1st Lt., AUS Korea 1951-52, as a forward air observer, flying 104 combat missions for which he received an Air Medal with two Oak Leaf Clusters. After six years in the U. S. Army Active Reserve, he completed his military service at the rank of Captain.
Randall had a long business history and was listed in WHO’s WHO IN TEXAS TODAY in 1968. He was the President and Chief Executive Officer for Centrifix Corporation from 1959-1968.
He was a loyal friend, a voracious reader, a sports enthusiast, and an animal lover.
A memorial service in his honor will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, January 14, 2019, in the Hankamer Chapel at Second Baptist Church, 6400 Woodway, Houston, TX 77057.
