Oded was born in Haifa, Israel on August 2, 1970, and was a devoted Jewish man. He lived, worked, and studied at the Kibbutz Ramat Yochanan from the age of thirteen to eighteen. At eighteen, Oded joined the Israeli Army, and served in Golani for three years and became a Sergeant. After serving his time in the Army, Oded created his own cheese and winery business in Israel.
After moving to the United States in the early two thousands, Oded was a dedicated and compassionate owner and employer of the Great Heights Relocation, a national moving company. Oded enjoyed spending time with family and vacationing with his wife. His greatest passion was cooking and was a phenomenal chef. He was proud to be an American and even more proud to be from Israel. Oded had the biggest heart and a great sense of humor. He was the most giving person who loved his wife, friends, and family very much, and he will be greatly missed.
Oded is survived by his wife, Jessenya Carrera Akerman; daughter Idit Akerman; son Lirom Akerman; brother Moshe Akerman and wife Ira; and dogs Lia and Lucas. He was preceded in death by his parents, Gershon and Tova Akerman; and his brother, Yehoram Akerman.
The graveside service will be private but can be viewed on The Levy Funeral Directors Page on Facebook at 1:00 pm on Sunday, February 7, 2021 and it will be able to be viewed after that time as well.
