Nettie Alline Payne

Nettie Alline Grider Payne, 85, of Houston, Texas passed away on May 23, 2013. She was born in Warren, Arkansas to Robert H. and Ina V. Grider. Alline was a graduate of Texas Christian University in Ft. Worth, Texas. Her first teaching position was with the Department of Interior, teaching Navajos at the Chemawa Indian School near Salem, Oregon. Alline taught high school mathematics for 27 years at Haltom High School, near Ft. Worth. For 50 years, Alline was an active member of the Delta Kappa Gamma Society International, a professional organization of women educators.

Alline enjoyed reading, traveling and playing bridge. She is survived by her loving daughter, Cheryl Payne Burrow of Houston, Texas. Family and friends are invited to a Memorial Service honoring Alline's life on June 1, 2013 at 2:00 PM at Earthman Bellaire Funeral Home. In lieu of usual remembrances, donations may be made to the charity of choice.
