Sr. Kathleen Smith, CCVI, a Sister of Charity of the Incarnate Word, has been called by God from this earthly life to enjoy God’s Presence forever. Sister’s death occurred on September 17, 2018 at 6:30 p.m., Houston, Texas.
Sr. Kathleen was born Kathleen Teresa Smith (1927), daughter of Peter Smith and Catherine Lynch in Raferagh, Carrickmacross, Co. Monaghan, Ireland. She entered the Congregation at St. Michael’s Convent, Carrigoran, Co. Clare, Ireland on October 31, 1947. She made her Perpetual Profession of Vows on August 15, 1955.
A special thank you is extended to the staff of St. Placidus Convent for the compassionate care they gave to Sr. Kathleen during her later years.
Sister Kathleen’s body will be received at the Immaculate Conception Chapel, Villa de Matel, 6510 Lawndale Street, Houston, Texas at 5:00 p.m. on September 21, 2018, followed by Evening Praise and a celebration of her life. Mass of Christian Burial will be held in the Immaculate Conception Chapel at 10:30 a.m. on September 22, 2018. The Rite of Committal will follow at Villa de Matel Cemetery.
