Judy was born in Colby, Kansas on October 24, 1941. She and her family soon relocated to Houston, Texas where she attended Spring Branch High School. Judy owned a real estate appraising company with her husband for many years and worked with numerous banks, mortgage companies and the Veterans Administration. She later joined Texas Children’s Hospital in a supportive role to the COO of Texas Children’s Pediatrics. But her real passions were cooking for her family and friends, fishing and sea-shelling at the beach, gardening, being the navigator on numerous road trips (she could always find the best short cuts) and cheering on her favorite golfers.
Judy is survived by Joe Faltin Thomas, her children Christian Eric Reinertsen, Kristi Reinertsen-Forehand, and Autumn Robbins, her two granddaughters, Hunter Reinertsen-Forehand and River Reinertsen-Forehand. She is also survived by her brother, Fred Lauterbach, sisters-in law, Lee Lauterbach and Jean Lauterbach, three nephews and their families, along with numerous friends and families by choice. Judy is preceded in death by her parents, Eloise Stokely Horlock and Fred Lauterbach, Jr., her brother, Danny Lauterbach, her stepson, Allen Reinertsen, and her husband, Chris Reinertsen.
A celebration of Judy’s life will be held at 11am on Wednesday, May 18, 2022 in the chapel at Earthman’s Bellaire, with graveside burial immediately following.
