Joseph Samuel Tamborello, Jr.

Joseph Samuel “Bubba” Tamborello Jr, passed away peacefully Sunday, October 1st, 2017. He was born January 25th, 1930 in Houston, TX to Dorothy and Joseph Tamborello, the second of eleven children. He attended Holy Rosary School, St. Thomas High School and University of Houston.

He served in the U.S. Army and was stationed in England. In 1959, he married the love of his life, June Gill with whom he had eight children. His family was his greatest source of pride. He loved them fiercely and was a devoted, loving father. He had a sharp wit and a wonderful smile. Tennis was his passion and he remained actively playing until his final days. His deep Catholic faith defined his life and was an inspiration to all who knew him. The evening before he joined the Lord, he attended mass at St. Michael Church.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 58 years, June and his seven children: Joseph Tamborello III, and wife, Cheryl, Lisa Lipman, Renee Heckler, Steven Tamborello and wife, Sandy, John Paul Tamborello, Gina Boutalbi and husband, Said, Shelley Masterson and husband, Douglas, and grandchildren: Richard Kulikowski Jr, Marshall, wife Sarah, Ryan, Avery, and Maxx Lipman, David, Chelsea, Mia Heckler, Lannah Tamborello, Nicole Satlo, husband Benji, Michael DeJessa, Zacharia Boutalbi, John Hunter, Lexie and Holden Masterson, siblings Marie Aydam, Camille Hill, Sissy O’Connell, Punkin Goodman, Sam Tamborello, wife Carol, Lolly Tamborello and many nieces and nephews.

He is preceeded in death by his son, Timothy Tamborello, brother Charles Tamborello, wife Elanora and sisters Magdalen Van Nes, Dell Tamborello, and Mitzie Tamborello, brothers in law Tom Goodman, Dan O’Connell, Billy Aydam, son in law Tim Heckler, niece Patricia Freeland, husband Michael, nephews Nick Tamborello and Patrick O’Connell.

Visitation will be Thursday, October 5th, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM with Rosary at 7:00PM at Earthman’s Funeral Home, 4525 Bissonnet St., Bellaire. Funeral Mass will be held at 1pm, Friday, October 6th at St. Michael Catholic Church, 1801 Sage Road. Burial will follow at Glenwood Cemetery.

Pallbearers: Doug Masterson, Said Boutalbi, Marshall Lipman, Ryan Lipman, David Hecker, John Hunter Masterson, Richard Kulikowski and Robert Livingston. Honorary Pallbearers: Richard Nicosia, Sam Tamborello and Maxx Lipman.
