Joseph Dale Beck, 86, passed away peacefully at his home Saturday, October 30th, 2010. Born in Nezperce, ID to Rudolf and Susan E. Beck, was raised in Bellaire and lived in Houston most of his life. For many years, Dale was an active member of Bellaire Presbyterian Church now Christ Church Presbyterian. A World War II veteran, he served with the 88th Division "Blue Devils" in Italy. He received his B.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Houston, was certified as Professional Engineer in the State of Texas and worked for Halliburton, Crouse-Hines, ITE and Brown and Root, Inc. He was a 32nd Degree Mason, member of the Masonic Lodge #1336 in Bellaire, the Arabian Shrine Temple and the Scottish Rite.
Survived by his wife Ruth (Curtis) Beck of 61 years; Two sons Kenneth and wife Beverly Beck, David Beck; One daughter Susan and husband Barry Rogers; Grandchildren Cheryl Loth, Kristy Allen and husband Luke, Jesse Rogers and Sarah Rogers; Great-grandson William Travis Allen. He is survived by sister Betty Coble, Brother John E. Beck, and was preceded in death by sister Elsie Ernst.
Visitation will be 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday, November 8, 2010 at Bellaire Earthman Funeral Home, 6700 Ferris St. The Internment will be at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 9, 2010 at South Park Cemetery in Pearland, TX. After the burial, a Memorial Service will be held at 3:00 p.m. at Christ Church Presbyterian, 5001 Bellaire Blvd. Bellaire, TX with a reception following.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association, the American Cancer Society and Christ Church Presbyterian of Bellaire, TX.
