Ivan Dale Williams left our world on February 7, 2016 in Houston, TX. Ivan was born February 5, 1947 in Delano, CA and grew up in Hot Springs, AR and Broken Bow, OK. Ivan could be described as a renaissance man due to his many areas of knowledge and talents. He served 2 tours of duty in the Viet Nam War in the United States Marine Corps. Ivan was a talented professional artist, carpenter, explorer of the world specifically Brazil as an ecologist. Texas Educator and seeker of knowledge which he used as a fascinating storyteller.
Ivan earned his Bachelor of Science in Biology and Masters' of Environmental Science both from the University of Houston Clear Lake. Ivan created many pieces of art and murals along the Texas Gulf Coast. He taught at Westbury Christian School, Stafford Middle School, and O'Donnell Middle School. He is preceded in death by his father Ivan Williams, mother Dorothy Bowen Williams, brother Thomas Williams, and stepson Tod Zotter. Ivan leaves behind his wife Patricia Williams and siblings Pamela Wilson of Vansant, VA, Jerry Williams of Hot Springs, AR, Terri Gregory of Hot Springs, AR, and Sherri Johnson of Hot Springs, AR. His loving memory will live on by his sons Scott (Takemi) Kegley of Norman, OK, Stace (Cyndi) Kegley of Choteau, OK, and Steven (Jill) Williams of Kyle, TX and his step children Laura Zotter of Austin, April (Aaron) Wagner of Aledo, TX. He will be missed by his grandchildren Martin Kegley, Taylor Kegley, Tyson Kegley, Tatem Kegley, Trystan Curtis, Noah Curtis, Graycee Curtis, Kavyn Curtis, Alan Wagner, Avery Wagner, Ashton Wagner, and Lucien Williams, as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews across the country.
The VA National Cemetery of Houston, TX is his final resting place where he will be buried with full military honors on February 19, 2016 at 10:30 AM. A reception will follow at Earthman Bellaire Funeral Home.
