Henry V. Cortez, age 93, passed away August 26, 2015 in Houston, TX. He was born July 15, 1922 to Ponciano and Jesusa in Houston, TX. Served in the Army 1942 - 1946 in the PacificTheatre. Henry is survived by the love of his life, Susana S. Cortez who he married October 17, 1948. Children: Gracie C Mancilla, who preceded him in death, (Hector), Ponciano Cortez, Evangelina C. Lyons (Mike), Lawrence Cortez. Grandchildren: Mark, Brett (Jason), Adam (Kammy), Michele (Rod), Greg (Rita) and Richard. Great-grandchildren: Dashiell, Gavin, Elianna and Madeline. Sister Alice Martinez and Brother Martin Cortes. He is preceded in death by sisters Angelina Rodriguez and Lupe Trevino.
Visitation will be from 6:00 to 9:00 PM with a Rosary recited at 7:30 PM, Friday, August 28, 2015 at Earthman Bellaire Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 AM, Saturday August 29, 2015 at St. Mark Evangelist Catholic Church, 5430 W Ridgecreek Dr. The Rite of Committal will follow at Southpark Cemetery.
