Gloria Joyce Gregory

Our precious mother, grandmother and friend, Gloria “Joyce” Gregory passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 11, 2017. Joyce was born June 1, 1935 in Mulberry, Arkansas, to parents Clyde and Buna King.

Joyce has been such an inspiration to so many through the years. Her strong will and unwavering Christian faith resonated with those around her. Joyce always had time for everyone, especially the children she cared for at Westbury Baptist Church.

Prior to her late husband’s death, Joyce and Don loved traveling with their friends and their favorite destinations were Alaska and Hawaii. Joyce loved surrounding herself with children and was instrumental in starting the Westbury Baptist Mother’s Day Out Program. She loved her weekly prayer group meetings, gardening, baking and spoiling her grandsons, Ross and Clay. All who visited the Gregory home enjoyed numerous helpings of scotcharoos, fried chicken, country fries and ice cream.

Joyce is preceded in death by her adoring husband of 40 years, Don Gregory, her sister Nellie Crupper, brother, Bobby King and grandson, Clay Davis.

She is survived by her loving children, Larry Gregory and wife Susan, Patti Davis and husband Steve and grandson Ross Davis and wife Lauren. Joyce leaves behind many loving friends and family members.

Visitation is scheduled for Wednesday, June 14, 5:00 PM-7:00 PM at the Earthman Bellaire Funeral Home. The Celebration of Joyce’s life will be held, Thursday, June 15, 2:00 PM at Westbury Baptist Church with reception following. A private burial will precede the service.

Honorary Pallbearers are Lane Johnson, Jack Shields, Rex Bell, David Reeves, Gerald Davis, Ray Price, Mike Adams and Joe Grace.
