Danny was born in Cleburne, Texas on August 26, 1924. From early childhood until his death, he lived in the Houston area. He was a graduate of Milby High School and earned a degree in commercial art. He served his country in the Navy during World War II. Danny had a life-long career in the oil and gas industry serving as a Sr. Engineering Technician with Houston Natural Gas, which eventually merged into Enron. Danny was an accomplished portrait artist and a member of the Marcus Group, part of Houston Civic Arts Association. He was an active member of Holy Ghost Catholic Church for 55 years. He also served in the Kiwanis Club, Houston Jr. Chamber of Commerce, Bellaire Chamber of Commerce, and the Knights of Columbus. Danny loved hunting, fishing, and socializing with friends and family. He especially loved meeting with his “coffee friends” several times a week.
Danny was a loving husband and father preceded in death by his parents, 2 sisters, and 5 brothers. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Gertrude, and six children- Brenda, Sandy, Bobby, David, Yummy, and Danny, Jr. He is also survived by several loving grandchildren and great grandchildren- William, Alicia, Jay, Kaye, Brian, Tycee, Kaycee, Henry, Hennessy, Raymond, Heather, Micah, Rebekah, Abigail, Danielle, Raven, Marcus, William Alexander, Kazimir, Aurora, and Leasia.
The visitation for Danny is Tuesday, July 21, 2015 at Earthman’s Bellaire Funeral Home between 4:00p.m. and 8:00p.m. with a Rosary at 4:30p.m. A funeral mass is scheduled for Wednesday, July 22, 2015 at 10:00am at Holy Ghost Catholic Church in Houston, Texas, with the Rite of Committal 2:00 PM at Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery.
