It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Cosme Arredondo, Jr., who left this world on December 8, 2024 at the age of 65. Born on February 18, 1959, in Richmond, Texas, Cosme was a beloved son, partner, brother, and friend.
A graduate of Lamar Consolidated High School, Cosme went on to pursue his passion for communications at Sam Houston State University. After earning his degree he went on to enjoy an over 20 year long career with FedEx.
Cosme was preceded in death by his parents, Asusana and Cosme Arredondo, Sr. He is survived by his loving partner, Matthew Ballman, and his devoted sisters, Cynthia Wessely and Thelma Ramirez (Joe), his younger brother Anthony (Phil), and only niece Crystal Ramirez (Renata).
Known for his kind and loving nature, Cosme had a childlike spirit that shone through in all that he did. He was always searching for the perfect treasure at estate sales, a quest that often led him to find toys that reminded him of his childhood. Cosme’s love for the holidays was infectious. He loved Christmas and Mardi Gras. He had a special fondness for decorating with Christmas lights, creating a festive atmosphere that warmed the hearts of those around him. Cosme was very creative, and especially enjoyed decorating for Halloween. Neighbors would trick or treat his house every year because of his exceptional decorations. He was a quirky, fun individual that was liked by everyone he would meet.
A lover of disco music and Disneyland, Cosme embraced life with enthusiasm and a sense of fun. His kindness extended to all living creatures, and he will be fondly remembered for the love he gave to animals. He will be dearly missed by his beloved dogs Macks and Boomer but is now joyfully reunited in heaven with pets Abby, Winston, Ginger, and Queenie.
Cosme’s legacy is one of warmth, generosity, and a genuine zest for life. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him, but his memory will live on in the many hearts he touched.
A celebration of his life will be held with family and friends at Earthman Bellaire Funeral home on December 27th from 6:00 – 8:00 pm.
Rest in peace, Cosme. May your light will continue to shine brightly in the lives of those who loved you.
