Corbin Linsey “Jimmie” Johnson, 97, of Houston passed away January 3, 2020. He was born on September 4, 1922 in Roff, Oklahoma, to the late William Clay and Ruby Ellen Johnson. Jimmie was the sixth child in a family of eleven children. Jimmie married Katharine Irene Hauser on January 26, 1946. He was honorably discharged from the US Army 160th Field Artillery. He then spent his entire career with National Supply, which was acquired by Armco Steel, and moved with the company to Houston in 1963. After he retired, he enjoyed time with his grandchildren, fishing, and gardening. He was an active member of Westbury Baptist Church where he served in the choir.
Jimmie is survived by his daughter, Melanie Noble, and her husband, Bill; son, Kent, and his wife, Karen; four grandchildren, Haley Braffett and her husband Mark, Randy Noble, Brent Johnson, and Katie Carpenter and her husband, Brit; three great-granddaughters, Lexi Tizzard, Libby Carpenter, and Addison Carpenter. And sisters Lovella Williams and Jo Harris. He is predeceased by his parents; six brothers, Albert, Lloyd, Wayne, Charles, Maurice, and Melvin Johnson; and two sisters, Rudean Clifton and Mildred Condren.
