Carolinda Boesen age 66 of Houston, passed away July 27, 2021 surrounded by love. She was born February 15, 1955 to Don and Betty Lanford in Fort Leavenworth, Kansas. Along with her dad’s Union Carbide career, Carolinda experienced a lot of new towns and schools until they settled in Alabama where she attended the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa. She is survived by: her sons, Christopher and his wife Rachel, Matthew and wife Andrea, her brother David and wife Karen, her two grandchildren, Brooke and Beau, whom she adored.
She worked for HISD for almost 30 years where she was admired and loved by the staff and students alike. She retired in 2014 due to her medical challenges. She fought valiantly through three bouts with cancer over 29 years; never letting the cancer win – even on the most painful days of treatment she stayed engaged in her family’s life. She was just that kind of woman who would “ride it until the wheels fall off.” Her proudest achievement is her two fine sons that she raised.
If you attend her Celebration of Life, the family asks that if possible you bring your favorite picture of her or with her to be displayed during the service. Floral tributes or donations to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation may be made through this link. https://give.bcrf.org/fundraiser/3359634
