Betty A. Gravel

Betty was born in Cottonport, Louisiana to Elva Guillory and Herbert Armand on Sept. 6, 1930. She attended Providence High School in Alexandria, Louisiana and married her high school sweetheart, Lionel Alfred “Sonny” Gravel in 1951. She was a beloved wife, mother, daughter, and sister. Those who knew her cherished her friendship. She was a member of Prince of Peace Catholic Church and an active volunteer doing floral work for Cypress Fairbanks Community Hospital.

Betty is survived by her three daughters, Diane Gravel of Houston, Texas; Delia Gravel-Rowat of Orlando, Florida; and Kathryne Hopkins of Houston, Texas; brother Herbert Dale Armand of Bellville, Texas; niece Christie Armand of Bellville, Texas; nephew Dwight David Armand of Bellville, Texas; nephew James DeGraffenreid of Phoenix, Arizona, grandchildren Emily Mersinger and Matthew Hopkins of Houston, Texas; Rachal Rowat and Thomas Rowat of Orlando Florida; great grandchildren Barrett, Wade, and Scarlett Mersinger. She is preceded in death by her Husband, Lionel Alfred “Sonny” Gravel and her parents Herbert and Elva Armand.

A visitation will be held at Earthman Bellaire Funeral Home Wednesday, December 9th from 6-8 pm with a rosary being said at 6:30 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Holy Ghost Catholic Church on Thursday, December 10th at 10 am, followed by interment at Klein Memorial Cemetery in Pinehurst, Texas at 12:30 pm.
