William C. Shuck, 80, a Jarrettsville, MD resident since 1975, formerly of several locations including Pittsburgh, PA, passed away on July, 5, 2019 at his home. He was born February 12, 1939 in Findlay, OH to Emerson and Sarah Shuck, now deceased.
He is best known to members of the fly-fishing community as an active and moderately renowned tier of fishing flies. Examples of his creative work in this area have regularly appeared on several internet websites, blogs and forums. He was a core member of a group known as the International Brotherhood of the Flymph, a cadre of like-minded tiers and fishermen who document their talents and knowledge on an internet site known as the Flymph Forum.
He is survived by his loving wife of 44 years Lynn Shuck of Jarrettsville, MD, three daughters from a first marriage, Malinda Cancio and her husband Danny, Sarah Lawson and her husband Kerry Lawson, and Elizabeth Kouvarakis and her husband Jason; two children from his wife’s first marriage, Chris Rodman and his wife Lara, and Kelly Rodman of West Palm Beach, FL; one surviving sister, Malinda Sautter of Cheney, WA; and 11 grandchildren and numerous lifelong friends.
Relatives and Friends may gather at Schimunek Funeral Home of Bel Air, Inc. 610 W. MacPhail Rd. Bel Air, MD 21014 on Saturday, July 13, 2019 from 3-5 and 7-9 PM. Interment private.
