Susan Yochim Clouser

Susan was born July 26, 1938 in Erie, PA. She graduated from Strong Vincent High School, where she played the clarinet and participated in the marching band. She enjoyed spending time on the beaches at Presque Isle. Prior to retiring she worked in retail as well as in physician offices. Susan worshipped at St. Jude the Apostle Church in Erie. In 2006 she moved to Bel Air, MD where she quickly made many new friends. She attended St. Margaret Parish and loved exercising at the Bel Air Athletic Club. Susan enjoyed gardening, music, cooking, shopping and spending time with family and friends.

She is predeceased by her husband Richard Clouser; daughter Laurie Post; parents Marilyn and George Yochim; brother Bert Yochim and sister-in-law Katharine Yochim; uncle Bert Woodburn and aunt Mary Woodburn. She is survived by brother Peter Yochim; brother Daniel Yochim and sister-in-law Cheryl Yochim; son Mark Payne and daughter-in-law Tammy Payne; daughter Deborah Payne and son-in-law Thomas Haduch; grandchildren Brian and Katelyn Payne, Amanda and Miguel Breight, Brett Haduch and fiancée Shirley Liu, Alex Haduch and girlfriend Diana Engels; and many nieces and nephews. She was loved by all.

Honoring Susan’s wishes, there will be a private graveside service at Calvary Cemetery in Erie, PA.

Despite her dementia, Susan was able to thrive and continue to live a full life after moving to assisted living. In lieu of flowers, we ask that donations be made to her assisted living center: Brightview Bel Air, 300 West Ring Factory Road, Bel Air, MD 21014; in the memo section please note “In honor of Susan Clouser.”
