Richard "Dick" Louis Trautwein

Richard "Dick" Louis Trautwein, age 91, of Bel Air, Maryland peacefully passed away on Friday, November 11, 2022. He was the beloved husband of the late Alice "Jackie" Louise Trautwein (nee Lennert); devoted father of Lynne Trautwein and her husband Doug Lindsey, Richard Trautwein and his wife Kelly, Kimberley Kruse and Kelly Herring; loving Pop Pop to Angela Peters, Christopher Sherman, Brooke Bairos (Ron), Richard Trautwein (Josh), Kyle Trautwein (Jennifer), Robert Miller, III (Marie), Michael Miller (Amy), Kristen Bratcher (Malcolm) and Amanda Herring; dear brother of William Trautwein, Kenneth Carter and Marie Smith; also survived by 8 great grandchildren.

For over 50 years, Dick officiated sports, mainly Fast Pitch Softball. He was inducted into the National Softball Hall as well as the Maryland Softball Old Timers Hall of Fame. Dick was proud to have umpired in the Olympics and to have served in the United States Army.

Family and friends may gather at the Schimunek Funeral Home of Bel Air (610 W MacPhail Rd, Bel Air, MD 21014) on Tuesday from 4:30 - 7:30 p.m. where a funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. Interment will follow at Gardens of Faith Memorial Gardens
