Philip Eugene Topper

Phil was born on May 31, 1938, in McSherrystown, PA, to parents Gerald & Geraldine Topper. A graduate of Towson Catholic High and Johns Hopkins University, he worked for General Motors for 40 years in the finance department. He was the loving and devoted husband of Sharon L Topper (nee Sizer) for 58 years. He is also survived by his children, Dr. Philip (Kevin) Topper of Riverside, RI, Candace Lindenberg and husband Richard of Fairfax, VA , and Courtney Westermeyer and husband Louis of Forest Hill, MD as well his five grandchildren Colin, Evan, Claire, Tyler, & Chase.

Phil loved being outside, rain or shine. He was an avid gardener, enjoyed running and later in his retirement, walking his dog. He also adored watching his grandchildren in their school and athletic activities. He was a dedicated man of faith, a 50-year parishioner and volunteer at St. Mark Catholic Church in Fallston, MD.

A visitation for Philip will be held Friday, November 24, 2023 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Schimunek Funeral Home, 610 W MacPhail Rd, Bel Air, MD 21014. A funeral mass will occur Saturday, November 25, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Saint Mark, Fallston, 2407 Laurel Brook Rd., Fallston, MD 21047. A graveside service will occur Saturday, November 25, 2023 at 12:00 PM at Dulaney Valley Memorial Gardens, 200 E. Padonia Rd., Timonium, MD 21093.
