Born in Minneapolis, Minnesota, in 1947, to Maurice E. Garrison and Adeline Geneva(Braaten), Lynn and his twin sister Linda were the oldest of four children. He grew up in Baltimore and graduated from Baltimore City College in 1965. He earned his bachelor’s degree from University of Maryland, College Park in 1969 and later earned an MBA from Loyola College. Lynn worked for the State of Maryland Health Services Cost Review Commission until he retired in 2004.
He served in the United States Army in the Republic of Viet Nam. For several years after retiring, he volunteered with Habitat for Humanity. Lynn volunteered with the Friends of the Library and was treasurer of the Bel Air branch. He was a tax aide and later the Harford County coordinator for the AARP tax program. He greatly enjoyed the people he met doing taxes and the people with whom he worked.
Lynn was an avid golfer and a member of the Perring Golf Association and was their handicapper for numerous years. He also enjoyed cycling, hiking, and was an advanced skier. Lynn and his wife, Carolyn, were scuba divers and underwater photographers who enjoyed traveling. Lynn had visited six continents and numerous islands.
In addition to his wife, Carolyn Chanoski, Lynn is survived by his twin sister, Linda (Baril) and her husband Brian, brothers Gregory and Michael, their wives Denae and Amy and many nieces and nephews.
