Luke- Its almost Christmas. I’ll be thinking about you more than ever at this time. I was talking to Mrs. Alvano and we reminisced on the good times but I can tell she misses you so much. We all miss you, I wish the school would do more in your memory. You were a big part of the community. Merry Christmas bud

Luke - I miss you so much it hurts. You were an amazing young man who inspired us, who made us proud, who made us laugh and who taught us it’s okay to be comfortable in your own skin. I can’t believe you’re gone. I wake up every day hoping to see you and talk to you again. I keep telling myself that this isn’t real but it is.  I’m re-reading the funeral passages. I look at pictures. I’m thankful for all the people who have helped us and those who said such nice things about you. Then, I remember the pain and the finality of this. There’s absolutely nothing I can do to fix it. We need to move forward keeping your soul in our hearts who’s looking out for us from afar. I love you my son.

I had the pleasure to work with him on his golf game and got to know him at Mountain Branch.

My deepest sympathy Merry, to you, your family and all who love you. The pictures of Luke's life brought a tear to my eye and a  smile to my face. I hope that they will help you through these difficult days and that they eventually bring you solace.

Words cannot describe the emotions you and your family must be going through.  My deepest heartfelt sympathies go out to you and your family.   

Luke and I had played golf together a few times. I was lucky enough to get to know him before he passed. Luke added so much to the game of golf. I had a lot of fun playing with him when I did. Rest in peace Luke. You will always be remembered by all those who love you.

Luke and I had spanish together last year. He was honestly the light of that class, hilarious and always up to something. He was friends with everyone, and I was surprised when he remembered my name. We would joke around with each other every other day in that class. He was one of the best seniors I knew, a role model for everyone.

I didn't have the privelege of knowing Luke as a young man, but I do remember fondly his mischievous energy and infectious smile! He lit up the room. May he rest in peace.

My son Johnny was lucky enough to be paired up in many HS matches with Luke over the their high school careers. It was obvious how much Luke loved the game and his sportsmanship and friendly attitude were always the highlight of the day. He was a great role model for his teammates and a phenomenal competitor. At the last tournament  this year, Johnny said he wished he’d been paired up with Luke one more time because Luke always made playing more enjoyable. His family and friends have so much to be proud of in the young man he became and he will be greatly missed.

Our son Jack is a student golfer at C. Milton Wright and had the pleasure of playing  matches against Harford Tech for the past 2 years.  Jack and Luke also played together at WRGC.  The love, support, sportsmanship, entertainment and class Luke brought to the HCPS golf program will never be forgotten. We have witnessed first hand Luke's love of golf and his incredible sportsmanship.  We know God has big plans for Luke and he will be playing golf on the grandest golf courses.

Luke was my student in 6 th grade. He was exuberant and craved knowledge. As a teacher I have occasionally been called “mom” by accident by my students but one day Luke called me “Chuck”. I was a bit shocked and said “ Who in the world is Chuck?” Luke explained that this was his loving step- father and we had a really good laugh. For the next several days Luke would enter the classroom in the morning and greet me with “ Good morning, Chuck!” He was a bright light with a boundless sense of humor and a kind heart.  I was always so happy to hear of his successes in high school. Rest in peace, Luke. You will be missed by many. 

Luke was such a light. There was hardly a time that he didn't have a smile on his face when I saw him in the halls. I remember math class with him freshman year. It was our last class of the day and whenever we were all tired with no motivation to do our work, his positivity would give us all our spark back. Even if it wasn't intentional, there was something about Luke that would immediately bring you joy.  Although we weren't that close, I had the pleasure of being seated next to Luke for a couple of months during that class. I loved hearing him talk about his plans for golfing after school and what he did over the weekend. "Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted" Matthew 5:4.  Luke, you will always be remembered. We love you forever.

I only met Luke a couple of times.  He was a friend of my granddaughter, Kayla Alford.  The first time I met Luke was probably one of the funniest .   I was picking Kayla up from a  Harford Tech FB game.  The kids we’re hanging out by my car while waiting for Luke’s mother to come and pick him up.  He saw his mother pull on the lot, he was sure that  she saw him standing by my car until she drove right past him.  Oh the look on his face and to see him running circles around the parking lot after her car and yelling for her.  You know he was smiling and laughing the whole time. 
The second time I was dropping Kayla and her friends off at the Arctic Circle, that’s when I learned he was a golfer as him and his parents joked back and forth about who was the better golfer.  They also spent some
time at our house after leaving the Arctic Circle, this is when I had the opportunity to get to know Luke a little better.  He was very funny with a great sense of humor, he was genuine and he was a pleasure to be around. 
I pray in the days to come you will read these comments and find some happiness just seeing how well loved Luke was by everyone.  We are so very sorry for your loss.  Our thoughts and prayers are with you, and your family and friends.

Luke started lighting up my life when he was in 6th grade. He would come to tutoring with questions! Why were things the way they were? Why did it work this way for him? How could it change? What did he need to do to make it better? Luke questioned the world like a much older person, making him wise beyond his years. After a conversation with Luke, it was easy to forget that you just spoke to a child or a teenager. He had so many plans and ideas and he would take you along on his journey. He was kind, which is not a usual descriptor for such a young boy.  No matter how hard the job was for him, he always thanked me. It is my turn to thank you, Luke, for being a part of my life for 7 years. 

I had the great pleasure of being Luke's US History teacher.  I knew right away that he was passionate about history, especially World War II.  Luke was always seeking more information.  When we were learning he would be Googling to find out more about topics and then share them with the class.  This photo is from a project Luke worked on with Joey Kanner and Shane Ekman.  Luke came dressed to be a news anchor for a WWII news broadcast.  He poured so much into that project; writing a script, directing his friends, wearing a suit to school…it was a labor of love.  Mrs. Koester and I loved talking with Luke in the hallway since his locker and Tech area were nearby.  He liked giving us a hard time, talking about golf, and asking if he could teach our classes for us.  I also got to see Luke over the summer since he was working at the BAAC. Here things came full circle, where Luke would be watching my own children in Kids Sports.  He would joke about how this was not the job for him-watching kids.  Luke, you will be very missed, but you will not be forgotten. My deepest condolences to his family and friends.

My sincerest condolences to all of Luke’s extended family & friends. I am so very sorry for your loss.  I knew Luke from his work at WRGC.  I will remember Luke for his polite demeanor, great attitude, and how he was always so eager to help anyone, anytime.  He’s already missed by so many.  May he rest in peace. I have had the pleasure of watching Luke grow and mature over the last four years as he was accepted in the WRGC golf community. Your smile and quick wit will be missed.  Rest in peace.

I remember Luke coming down from upstairs and he’s singing baby by Justin Bieber and I thought he was so funny singing and he had his headphones on and singing really loud. He was an intelligent smart and funny guy.  Plus I would clean his room every two weeks with my mom. Revelation 21:3,4 . Your friend Alexis stavros ❤️ 

My sincere condolences to the Cimino and extended family. My brother Don Colburn spoke highly of Luke, and it is apparent that he was a bright shining light to Tony, and to all of the Cimino friends and family.  God bless, and may your fond memories help ease your pain.

Luke  you were your own man you said what you felt  and did what you wanted to do. You were comfortable in your own skin  and  I really admire you for that. I am so grateful for the time you and Kacy had together.  I am just so sad you two didn’t  get to finish your dreams together you were truly a real Captain on and off the golf course. You touched so many hearts in so many ways.  I know your going to birdie some par 5’s in heaven. You won’t be forgotten in the Day family for sure. See you on the other side until then Rest In Peace Captain. Thank you for giving Kacy the happiest memories she loved you Luke.

My son Charlie had the pleasure of playing several matches including Luke’s final golf round as a senior at Geneva Farm this past fall (above). He was a delight to watch and his positive attitude always made it a great day for him and his playing partners. We didn’t know Luke outside of high school golf but it seems he was loved by a lot of people. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family. And Luke thank you for being an inspiration to my son Charlie.

My heart is so heavy for your pain and loss of Luke.  Luke was one of Mason ‘s first friends meeting as 2 years olds in day care/preschool.  I have fond memories of shared birthday parties with the boys.  Praying for comfort and peace as you navigate this horrific loss.

We have been blessed to know Luke since he was 8. He welcomed us as family when my brother and Merry married. He was always funny, sweet and kind.  I will miss his laugh and beautiful smile. Luke was the most selfless, funny, and truthful person I ever met. He went with me to every football game to keep me company while entertaining the entire student section. There was no hesitation when he yelled “What is our offensive coordinator doing, we’re gonna lose if we keep doing this stupid play” out loud for the entire stands to hear or at baseball games when he would boo the other team when they scored a run (while everyone else is silent and can clearly hear). He never cared what anyone thought of him and that’s what I loved most about him. Nothing was ever boring when Luke was around and he never failed to make you laugh. He was always willing to include everyone even when it means buying Wawa for 6 people in the middle of a football game. Luke was willing to drop anything for any of his friends even going to a haunted house when he absolutely hates being scared. Every single moment with Luke was a good time and he will forever live in all of our hearts. I love you Luke❤️

When I met Luke, I met a young man with whit and zest for fast cars. We had a few soft debates about which sports cars and football teams were also the best and of course about some of the greatest golf shots... but then I was delightfully surprised by his appreciation for delicate things in life.  Luke has an appreciation for a few antiques and fine china that had been in his family for generations. As he showed me these pieces with gentleness and attention to detail, we were interrupted by the normal jubilee of sibling bantering.  Luke took on like a normal teenage boy- letting his siblings have it!  Luke, just had a heart of GOLD, just like his Mom, Merry.  Love, Marion 

I worked with Luke at Winters Run and golfed with him a handful of times.  He was one of the nicest young men I have had the pleasure to work with.  He was always willing to help anyone with anything whether he was still on the clock or not.  He was always upbeat and had a smile on his face and his passion and love of golf was second to none.  He will be greatly missed.

What an amazing friend he was to many. Luke brought the energy to any game he attended. He really was the reason any game was fun. Whether he was leading the student section or cheering for his closest friends on the football team, everyone knew the games would be fun if he was there. Luke was my golf student at times, my employee at times, but always my friend.  I speak for our entire staff when I say that Luke was always upbeat, never had an unkind word to say about anyone, was willing to help out whenever needed, and was overall a really good person.  

Winters Run will miss him greatly.  Thank you for everything that you brought to us, Luke.

Cousin Merry, we are so so saddened by this devastating news, as we just finally got to meet Luke and Callie only two weeks ago. Sounds like he was an amazing kid! And know you were a great mom to him. I know you will miss him dearly and hope that in time you will be comforted by the amazing memories of him.

Luke was always talking on and off the course. Every golfer in harford county felt Lukes presence in many ways. He was a beloved member of the high school golf community and I know he will be missed by many. 

When we moved here, my daughter didn't know many kids in the neighborhood.  Luke saw her playing outside and even though he was a few years older, he invited her to play cops and robbers with him.  He took out a notepad and wrote her up little speeding tickets.   This went on for hours.  I still remember how happy she was that day. I feel blessed to have met such a beautiful soul.  Our deepest condolences to you all.

Luke I never really knew you very personally but I did know that you were a charismatic and goofy guy. You always made me laugh at football games when you would cheer with us and you just radiated positive energy. No one does the cheers like you Luke.

I’m not really sure how to start this but Luke was probably one of my best friends throughout our time in high school together. We’d hang out in the mornings before school started, we’d hang out at football games, just like friends do. He invited me over to his house, bought me chick fil a, showed me his lego collection. Luke was one of my first friends in spanish class of junior year. It was by far my hardest year and most days I wasn’t even able to smile. Luke completely changed that and I looked forward to going into school every single b day. He never failed to put a smile on my face and cared so deeply about his friends. I’m so sorry that this happened to such a good friend. Luke was my best friend in fourth and fifth grade and helped me incredibly when my mom got sick. He was such a sweet soul and will surely be missed. 🕊️❤️

I’ve only ever interacted with Luke once but, he might be one of the funniest people I’ve ever met. He always brought a great positive energy, and could make anyone smile and laugh— even if they were having a bad day— he’s truly going to be missed by everyone. 

Luke, you were the best captain i could ask for. your personality, laugh, and the way you cared for others will be deeply missed. I remember at practices you would practice in the middle of a storm and  get soaking wet while everyone else just watched you. because you were focused on getting better at golf. you made me a better golfer and taught me etiquette. I didn’t know Luke too well as we only were in the same classes at Homestead Wakefield for fifth grade. I remember him as a very outgoing and funny classmate who loved everything FBI. My prayers are with his friends and family.

There we were. First football game of the year. You were my right hand man, always cheering and sometimes even louder than I would. A strong memory I have is when we were at the baseball game and you would cheer so loudly for Josh and Joey. Seeing the way you supported your friends inspired me man. There was never a dull moment between us. This is hard to accept but I have to. Sending prayers to everyone that Luke had an impact on. Even if it was the smallest impact. I love you man, rest easy❤️

Before I got to know Luke when we first came into high school, I often found him walking the halls with a smile in his face. Junior year, in homeroom was when I really got to know and understand what he was like. While he was quiet in homeroom, I found that it took the right people for him to open up. We started going to football games together where he’d stand up and conduct the band whenever they played a song and golfing, he even showed up at Kaylas house for her birthday unannounced. Luke was such an amazing person, he truly had my back on things when no one else believed me. He’d keep anyone’s secret if they asked him too also. He lit up every room he walked into with his jokes, and humor. Luke had a way about him that he didn’t care what anyone thought of him, and that’s something I wish to carry with me for the rest of my life. Rest easy Luke, I hope you’re up there jamming to the best country songs, playing golf, fishing, and living out all that you should’ve gotten the opportunity to do during you’re time with us. 

Luke had an amazing vocal ability to brighten up the Carpentry Class every day. All of his classmates loved working with him because of his kindness and always willing to help everybody.  He inspired everyone, including me! Luke definitely left us all with many fond memories to treasure. He will be deeply missed.

Luke was an amazing young man.  He was a wonderful team leader for the Cobras and mentor as well.  He touched the lives of everyone he knew.  I will miss his warmth, humor and caring ways.  I will never forget Luke.

Luke was an absolutely great human being. I had walked into history class the first day of in person learning sophomore year and there he was sitting there i wouldn’t see his full face because we had to wear masks at the time but you could just tell that he was smiling and happy to be there. I was lucky enough to be one of the ones that sat at a table with him and got to enjoy all of his jokes and him talking about golf and going fishing. I could always count on him if i needed to talk and if i came to school having a bad day he immediately made it better. He was not just another student he was one of the best student section leaders we had at football games. He was there even when no one else was. Always cheered loudly and even helped conduct the marching band along with the drum major. His smile could brighten up an entire room. He was so proud to be a cobra and always had school spirit. Always dressing up for spirit days and even getting people pumped up at pep rallies. He will be deeply missed not only by friends and family but by the whole Harford Tech community including teachers and staff. We all miss him so much. 

Luke was one of those people who it didn’t matter if you hadn’t talked to him in 4 months, when you needed him he was there. No matter what the problem was he had your back , he always made me smile and always made me feel like I had someone who was by my side. His personality was one of a kind and he will always have a special place in my heart he was one of my best friends at one point and I will miss him so much. I will miss our car jam out sessions and chic fil a. 

I am so very sorry to the family of this amazing human being. I didn’t know him very well but I did now he touched many people and brightened up the school. May he rest and peace and god bless you all.
