She was the cherished daughter of the late Harold and Oneida Lohman. Linda was the beloved wife of Gary A. Roller with whom she shared a remarkable bond as teenage sweethearts. Their enduring love story culminated in a marriage that spanned 58 beautiful years.
Linda was a devoted wife and mother. She was the matriarch of the family. Together with Gary, they built an amazing life together and created many memories at home as well as their cabin in West Virginia.
Linda was a homemaker until her children were older. At that time, she started a successful cleaning business. She remained the successful owner and operator of her cleaning business until she and Gary retired.
During their retirement they spent time at their cabin and traveled the United States with their beloved dog, Cashmere. They crossed the United States multiple times in their RV visiting family and taking in the sights. They particularly loved the Grand Canyon, Lake Tahoe, and the Redwood forests.
Linda was a leader in the community and volunteered in multiple Recreational Councils. She was influential in children’s lives through volunteering as a softball coach, baseball coach and gymnastics instructor. She was instrumental in the development of the Haunted Dungeons in Fort Howard and, along with Gary, designed an elevated cable system to swoop down through the woods on unsuspecting Haunted Dungeons patrons as the “Flying Witch.”
Linda was a wonderful “home chef” and created very tasty meals that were enjoyed by her family and friends. She always cooked her loved ones their favorite dish on their birthday. She was also quite the artist. She enjoyed drawing, painting and ceramics. Many of her pieces are proudly displayed in the homes of her loved ones. She was also an avid gardener. She had a “green thumb” and always had plants all around her home and a bountiful vegetable garden.
Linda was a phenomenal athlete. She enjoyed skiing, played volleyball, golf, and took dance classes with Gary (they won 3rd place in a Disco dancing contest!). She was also a standout softball player. She was a switch hitter, pitched and played left field. She excelled at softball and was able to play competitively into her forties when she was able to play on a Co-Ed team with her son.
In addition to the love of her life and devoted husband Gary, Linda is survived by her loving children Dawn (Anthony) Thackston and John (Deborah) Roller who carry on her legacy of love, determination, and commitment to family. She leaves behind seven grandchildren: Ashley (John), AJ (Jessica), Greg, Dylan (Savannah), Sarah, Jacob, and Hannah and eight great grandchildren: Rylan, Maxwell, Layne, Rory, Myles, Reyna, Owen and Penelope.
In addition to her parents, Linda was preceded in death by her sister Sherry and brothers Bruce, Robert, James and William.
