On December 20, 2024 Jeannette “Jan” McPherson Bensel, daughter of the late Edwin and Mae McPherson. Jan was born March 13, 1936 in Chattanooga TN and shortly thereafter moved with her sister, the late Joanne Raulin and parents to Washington DC where she grew up.
After graduating from high school she entered the engineering program at the University of MD College Park where she met and married her husband of 60 years, the late John Bensel.
She was a homemaker who enjoyed a variety of interests including playing piano, reading, boating, crabbing, camping and sewing.
She is survived by her son, Eliot Bensel and his wife Tirza; her daughter Jacqueline Kitchen and her husband David; and 3 granddaughters Jeannette, Toni and Skylar.
