Janet Ann Thomas

On May 10, 2016 Janet Ann Thomas, beloved daughter of Pearl Schultz, devoted mother of David Shannon Bushall and his wife Mary Beth; Melissa Kristin Garci; Jennifer Ashley O’Brien and her husband, Kevin; Jillian Brooke Thomas and her fiancé Dave Votta; grandmother to Tyler and Brooke Garci; Dominick Bushall; Charlotte and Elise O’Brien and Hunter Liegel. She also leaves behind her siblings, Louie Schultz Jr, Daniel Schultz, Thomas Schultz, Tammy Schultz and Joy Miller as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was greeted in heaven by her parents, Parker and Gertrude Hawkins, her brother, Ernest Schultz and her two other fathers, Charles Hester and Louie Schultz Sr. Janet was sassy, always had an opinion about something and constantly had a smile on her face. There wasn’t a person that she could pass by without talking to. She kept Starbucks in business with her 6 pump toffee nut lattes and three vanilla scones. She adored animals with her favorite being her late horse, Cowboy. A graduate of Bel Air High School, class of 1968 (the year that rocked the world), she raised her kids in the same area and always loved Harford County. She was a devoted member of Mount Zion Methodist Church and would always try to spark theological discussions with people when she could. She fought a long and hard 18 year battle with breast cancer and never let it break her spirit. She made a mark on everyone that met her. We will miss her humor, her quirks, her love and generosity. Relatives and friends may gather at Schimunek Funeral Home of Bel Air, Inc. 610 W. MacPhail Rd. Bel Air, MD 21014 on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM. Funeral will be celebrated at Mt Zion Methodist Church 1645 E Churchville Rd Bel Air MD 21015 on Thursday at 11 AM.
