Born in 1923 in Durango, Colorado Irma traveled cross country at the age of 16 to live with her Aunt in the Baltimore area. Later she met and married Edward C. Klein. They were married 60+ years before his passing in 2009. Irma was well cared for after his passing by caregiver and friend Randa Newcomb.
Irma is survived by her two children, Virginia A. Campbell of Havre de Grace, and Edward F. Klein II of Bel Air, married to Carol A Klein. She is also survived by sister-in-law Lois Mae Hannewald, wife of Irma’s late brother Norman.
Irma was the proud grandmother to Nathan Wood, Edward Wood, Dawn Klein, spouse Stacey Hamlet, Victoria Klein and great-grandmother to James Wood and Gwendolyn Klein.
She is also survived by her beloved cat Smokey.
In lieu of flowers the family request donations to Veterans organizations, Habitat for Humanity, National MS Society, or a charity of your choice.
Visitation and a celebration of life service will be held at Schimunek Funeral Home, on Monday, February 13th. 9:30am(visitation), 10:30am(Service). Schimunek is located at 610 W Macphail Rd, Bel Air, MD 21014. Graveside service will be family only.
