Daniel R. O'Keefe Sr.

On May 23rd 2013, Daniel R. O'Keefe of Bel Air, MD passed away at the age of 68 after a long illness. Although Dan was born in Baltimore and spent most of his life in Maryland, his job took him to various regions of the country and he had numerous friends throughout the U.S. Dan served as a cook in the Navy from 1962 to 1968 and subsequently enjoyed a successful career in the foodservice packaging industry before retiring in 2005. Dan received several awards and accolades during his career and achieved a billion unit sales while serving as the Regional Manager for A & E Plastics in 1987. In addition to his passion for cooking, Dan enjoyed fishing, golfing, spending time with his family, and was never at a loss with a good joke. Dan is survived by his loving wife Marie O'Keefe, sons Daniel O'Keefe Jr and his wife Holly of Glen Burnie, MD, Robert O'Keefe and his wife Bonnie of Abingdon, MD, Ronnie O'Keefe of Belcamp, MD, and daughter Tammy DeFazio and her husband Larry of Bel Air, MD. Dan is also survived by grandchildren Katie O'Keefe, Vince DeFazio, Michael DeFazio, Jeremy O'Keefe, Jackie Moran, Josie O'Keefe, nephews Jake Vann, Jared Vann, and niece Kristin Vann along with numerous other loving family members. Relatives and friends may gather at Schimunek Funeral Home of Bel Air, 610 W. MacPhail Rd., Bel Air, MD 21014, on Tuesday 3-5 & 7-9pm. A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday at 10am at the Funeral Home. Interment Highview Memorial Gardens.
