Dan graduated in 1961 from Bonner High School where he was inducted into the swimming hall of fame and received a Bachelor of Science degree from St. Joseph’s University in 1969. He also served as a 2nd Lieutenant in the Army Reserves. His professional career included numerous sales roles spanning multiple industries and ownership of a small business. He was also a dedicated coach of youth sports.
He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Veronica (Henner) Delaney, and children Melissa Delaney, Suzie (Delaney) Pelz and her husband Chris Pelz, Matthew Delaney and his wife Lindsay Delaney, and grandchildren, Annabella Delaney, Wyatt Delaney, Colin Delaney, Jack Delaney, Katie Pelz and Luke Pelz. He is also survived by two brothers, Thomas Delaney and Jerry Delaney, and many nieces and nephews.
He was most happy watching his children and grandchildren on and off the sports field. He will be truly missed by his family and friends and never, ever forgotten.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit at Schimunek Funeral Home of Bel Air Inc., 610 W. MacPhail Rd. Bel Air, MD 21014, on Thursday, January 19, 2023 form 2-4 and 6-8 PM. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, January 20, 2023 at 10:00 AM at St. Margaret Catholic Church. Interment will be on Tuesday, January 31, 2023 at 11:30 AM at Crownsville Veteran Cemetery.
