Angelo Richard Orlando

JULY 9, 1932 – MARCH 11, 2020

Angelo Richard (Dick) Orlando, 87, passed on Wednesday, March 11, 2020. Angelo was born in New Castle, PA. The son of the late Mike Orlando and Elsie Wietz. He was the devoted husband of Alicia (Alice) Beslar Orlando (nee Becker); devoted father of Cynthia Orlando, Michael Orlando and his wife Indrani, and Richard Orlando and his wife Donna; loving grandfather of Sean Cody, Kyle Orlando and Brittany Orlando, great grandfather to Dillon Cody, dear brother of Betty Jane and husband Larry Cioffi and the late Pauline Orlando, uncle to Elisa, Anthony, Janeen and late Larry, Jr.

On November 7, 1953, he married his wife and high school sweetheart, Alicia (Alice) Beslar (Becker) of 66 years. He attended New Castle High School and was a minor league pitcher for the Pittsburgh Pirates and prospect for major league until he was drafted and served in the Korean war. After discharged from the Army, he started his career with Raymond International and later relocated to Maryland. Dick was very active in several sports such as fishing, crabbing, hunting, tennis, playing golf, and bowling. He was a longtime member of Joppatowne and Edgewood Parks and Recreation Council along with his wife Alice. Together they were very active participants in the foundation of the Harford County tennis program serving the community for over 45 years.
