Allen E. Ault, 88, of Bel Air, Maryland passed away on May 15, 2024 after a brief illness. Allen is survived by his daughter, Rebecca Magnani, Rebecca’s husband Tim, and their son, Alexander.
Allen was born on June 9, 1935 in Accident, Maryland, the youngest of four children of Earl and Fannie (Broadwater) Ault. He graduated from Northern High School and went to the University of Maryland to study engineering. Allen served in the Army from 1957 to 1963, and married Grace Bachtel in 1962. Allen worked for the Maryland State Highway Administration for 41 years before retiring, but once he retired, he found a love for flying kites, building wooden boats, and general tinkering. His wife, Grace, passed away in 2004 after a battle with cancer. He was lucky to have found a companion in Evelyn Rossbach, who passed away in 2023. Al will be greatly missed. Fly high, Al.
A visitation for Allen will be held Saturday, May 18, 2024 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM And from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Schimunek Funeral Home of Bel Air, Inc., 610 W MacPhail Rd, Bel Air, MD 21014. A memorial service will be held in Garrett County at a later date.
