Bill left us to be with the “Angels” in a place that’s peaceful and without pain. We let him go with regret but with much love from all of us.
He leaves behind his wife Nancy. They were married 65 years and had 3 children. LuAnn his daughter and David his son. His son Billy preceded him in death 3 years ago. He also had 3 grandchildren, Sam Beagle, Julia N Jai, and Adam Messer. He had 3 great grandchildren, Lincoln and Eva Louis N Jai and Asher Beagle. He also leaves behind daughter-in-law Theresa Messer and Anna Oroyco.
Bill attended Beech Grove High School and played four sports. He then finished high school and graduated from Tech High School. Bill was a home builder and built his own family home and many others. Most of them were built and Indianapolis and surrounding areas.
He was very interested in Beech Grove, where he was born, and was the first President of Beech Grove Athletic Booster Club. He coached Beech Grove Little League in baseball and football. In 1979 he ran for Mayor of Beech Grove, but lost by 81 votes. He did served on the Beech Grove City Council for 4 years.
Bill came from a very large family as did his wife Nancy. Their families the Messer’s and Gilliland’s were 2 of the largest in Beech Grove, with extended family and friends.
Bill joined the Beech Grove Jaycees in the early 1960’s. The Jaycees served Beech Grove in community service in many ways. He and his family made many lifelong Jaycee friends and to this day they are still here.
A celebration of life will be held Saturday May 14th from 4:00 PM-7:00 PM with a service 7:00 PM at Little & Sons Funeral Home Beech Grove.
Memorial Contributions may be made to the Indiana Diabetes Association or American Parkinson Association.
